When Cindy and her partner Jose moved back to El Paso from NYC, the initial dream was to build an earth home amongst familias de nopales, vendaditos and gobernadora. Her ancestors Navajo Diné, Apache & Yaqui, led her in a different direction, Spider woman whispered plans for a different type of earth home.

Aghaa Hat co. is a space where she makes hats, knits, weaves, bead weaves, embroiders, bead embroiders, plays with leather and feathers. Her space is a sanctuary for art of the region, highlighting artists with stories to tell, resonating with other artists who too share in respect and ceremony with the land. Knowing that creating is a powerful survival mechanism, she hosts  

“If I build it, will they come?”
